2018 Randolph Toymakers 5k Fundraiser

*Covid-19 updates:

To be able to race together this year and raise money for this great organization we have had to make some changes to the way the event takes place.  Please know that we will continue to monitor the situation and do all that we can to keep everyone, participants and volunteers, safe.  It is not how we typically would do things so please understand and be patient with us.  Note the following adjustments:

NO race day registration

NO t-shirts or Medals (we just cannot ask our sponsors that have been so very generous in the past to provide these items)

NO post race picnic

NO awards ceremony (winner certificates will be emailed)

This FUNdraiser event is held each year to raise funds for this non-profit group that makes small wooden toys that are given to children in need around the world.  Distributed through mission groups, emergency services and crisis centers; these toys have been bringing smiles to kids since 2007. Donations are always appreciated and volunteers sought to assist in this simple, thoughful and loving way to bring joy when it is most needed.

Start and finish at Weeden Park with an out and back course down Weeden Road.

FUNdraiser rates are as follows:

$10 for Kids age 17 & Under

$20 Adult

Can’t make the event – please consider making a donation on thier registration page or sending your contribution to Dick Hall – Chief Toymaker, 418 Grubb Hill Road, Kennedy, NY 14747.  Other donations of wood, paint and paint brushes, wheels, sandpaper, etc as well as your time are always appreciated.  If you know of an organization or a benefit that could use some toys please contact us.

Most Residents are Amish in the Town of Leon

There are approximately 1,380 residents in Leon with the Amish Community comprising about 76% of that number. The Old Order Amish settled in Leon in 1949. They do not believe in the modern conveniences. They have no electricity in their homes + travel by horse and buggy.

If you are looking for someplace interesting to go, try the Leon area. It is right in the heart of Amish Country.
