YMCA Race Series

YMCA of the Twin Tiers is gearing up for its first annual Spring Race Series. The series includes five races across its three locations (Bradford, Olean and Wellsville. The first race kicks off in Olean on March 27th at Gargoyle Park.Participants who complete the series will receive a dri-fit T-shirt and medal.

1. Shamrock Scramble 5K run/walk March 27 Olean YMCA
2. Bradford Bunny Hop 5K run/walk April 10 Bradford YMCA
3. April Showers May Qualifiers 5K & 10K April 24 Olean YMCA
4. Let’s Color the Town 5K May 15 Wellsville YMCA
5. Bradford 5K; Half Marathon May 22 Bradford YMCA

Christie Thornton, Director of Operations, stated "The Y is very excited to add this spring race series to our communities. We are striving to provide programs and services while keeping our
community members and participants safe." Stacie Titus, Bradford Executive Director, added,“With so many races that were cancelled last year we are thrilled to bring back our race series in person. Everybody is welcome, our Spring run series embodies the Y’s cause by being available for all ages, abilities, and backgrounds. They give adults, children, and families, the ability to raise their spirits and their heartbeats through fun and competitive races."

Registration for the series is $150 for YMCA members and $200 for non-members. Individual races are $30 for the 5K, $50 for the 10K and $70 for the half marathon. Participants registering for only the half marathon will also receive the dri-fit t-shirt and medal. Registration is now open in person, by phone or online.

The Largest New York State Park is Allegany State Park which is the 3rd largest in the nation with 65,000 acres (97 square miles) and lots of trails. Allegany State Park has over 35 miles of Cross Country skiing trails, 18 hiking trails and 5.6 miles of paved multi-use trails (horseback riding, snowmobiling and more) around Red House Lake area. 3 campground areas with over 375 cabins.
