Civil War Re-Enactment in Hinsdale, NY from August 14-15, 2021

Hinsdale is planning a Civil War Reenactment along with atlatl throwing and knapping demonstrations on August 14th and 15th, 2021 at the Hinsdale American Legion.


There will be atlatl throwing demonstrations.

There will be tool knapping demonstrations in which you may learn about making tools from stone, flint and other materials.

  • Arrowhead & Native American Artifacts

We are looking for people with Civil War-era collections, as well as arrowhead and native American pieces to set up and display.

Food, Music & More

There will be music and food vendors.

Join in for a fun-filled weekend!

What to Bring

Bring a lawn chair and enjoy the demonstrations, the roar of cannons, displays and music.

Clare Mark is the highest elevation in Cattaraugus County

The highest point in Cattaraugus County is Clare Mark, at 2,430 feet.  This mount, in the Town of Allegany off Chipmunk Road, is privately owned, and does not have public access for hiking.  Nearby attractions are Rock City Park and Allegany State Park.
