The Portville Historical and Preservation Society is an educational agency, chartered by the Regents of the State of New York. It was established in 1986 in response to renewed interest in the preservation of Portville's past.
The Town of Dayton is on the western border of the Enchanted Mountains of Cattaraugus County. The Village of South Dayton is located within the town.

For the development of the Enchanted Mountains Brand, we talk about the sensory things, like visual identity - the EM logo, use of colors and the way we write in various ways. We want the Enchanted Mountains to be a trusted source for traveling in Western New York State. This is the dynamic foundation of the Enchanted Mountains brand.

If you’re a first responder, enjoy a free roundtrip train ride from Gowanda, NY, to South Dayton and back. A 30-minute layover in the village of South Dayton lets you explore the vendors in the area, such as farmers, baked goods, and crafts. All first responders ride for free!
Join Jessica Borchert on November 19th from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM for a vibrant workshop where you’ll use bright colors and a grid technique to create a stunning portrait of your pet. The Wildwood Sanitarium opened it's doors in 1906 as a Sanitarium and Bath House. Later, in 1923, it became a Tuberculosis Clinic and then used as apartments later on.
