Roadside Café is a family-style restaurant on one side and a bar and grill on the other. The unique décor includes authentic wagon wheels, antique light fixtures, and tongue-and-groove pine paneling. New business owner Janet Koch and building owner Carmen Vecchiarella have completely overhauled the former Pyramid Inn, including new equipment in the kitchen.

Serving Italian and American foods including Vecchiarella’s specialty pizza, which is known for its wonderful sauce. Also serving wings, subs, burgers, wraps, chicken tenders, Texas hots and Texas burgers, fish fries, chicken dinners, shrimp dinners, an assortment of soups and chilis, and specials everyday. There is also a complete salad bar stocked with about two dozen selections.

There is plenty of seating and both the bar area and the dining room. The room in back has also been remodeled and will accommodate 50 to 60 people for parties, clubs or anyone wanting more privacy.

Meaning of the word Cattaraugus

CATTARAUGUS, from a Seneca Indian word meaning “bad smelling banks,” referring to the odor of natural gas leaking from rock seams. http://www.dos.ny.gov/info/pdfs/countynames.pdf

The word "Cattaraugus" means "foul-smelling river bank." This name is a result of the natural gas that oozes from the river mud. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cattaraugus_Creek.
