HO! HO! HO! The holidays are fast approaching and there's no better way to get into the spirit than by spending some time in Allegany State Park. Join the Environmental Education Department on Saturday, December 7th for a fun, festive, family event- Saturday with Santa!

In this, the season of giving, we are asking event participants to bring non-perishable food items and/or an unwrapped toy to be donated to a local food pantry and Toys for Tots. This is sure to be a great day! Don't miss out! 

Get ready for an unforgettable fall trail adventure on Saturday, October 25th starting at Art Roscoe Trailhead at Allegany State Park.

The Summit 50/50, hosted by Reluctant Runner Racing, is a Trail Sisters approved ultra trail race in the stunning summit of Allegany State Park, New York's largest and most picturesque state park. Experience crisp autumn air, brilliant foliage, and a course that will push your limits in all the best ways. 

Visit the Fannie Bartlett House on August 16th for their "Pie on the Porch" event! They will have 10 pie themed raffle baskets included a Cutco pie server in each basket!

This Queen Anne-style house was originally built in 1881 by George Foreman, and purchased in 1891 by Frank and Fannie Bartlett for $15,000, a hefty sum for that time, he said. The house features nine rooms decorated in turn-of-the-century Victoriana and seven fireplaces, each different in design and composition.

Celebrate the Holiday Season with a Living Nativity, complete with a camel, all in the Village. The Ellicottvilles Christmas Stroll was created in 1987 by a group of citizens who wanted to organize such an event in the village. After brainstorming over coffee, it was decided that they wanted a live nativity scene with children dressed as angels and shepherds, who walked around the village and met at the gazebo. There, the baby Jesus was presented and caroling presided.

Come join Santa and Mrs. Claus as they officially light the town's holiday decorations! This festive Annual Santa Claus Lane Parade is held annually on the Friday after Thanksgiving and the traditional kick-off to the holiday season. Santa will be in attendance and light up thousands of lights in Lincoln Park and downtown Olean when he parades through town in celebration.

This is the third night of Christmas In Allegany at the Allegany Santa House. This is a free event to come visit Santa in his beautifully decorated Santa House with Elf Shack behind selling basket raffle tickets to help support this yearly tradition.

Basilica of St. Mary of the Angels Free Tours available on the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th Fridays of the month. No reservations necessary. Come and discover the beauty of the southern tier's Basilica of St. Mary of the Angels in Olean, NY.  The 33 Munich-style windows are some of the finest domestically-produced windows in the nation.  Pope Frances designated the church as a Minor Basilica on February 14, 2017 for its exquisite art, architecture and history. Spring is here! Join an Allegany State Park Naturalist for a "Signs of Spring Evening Walk" explaining Allegany State Park's blossoming spring critters on Wednesday, April 23rd from 6:30-8:00pm. Participants will be treated to some early signs of spring that may include display flight of American Woodcock, chorusing amphibians, newly emerged spring plants and much more. Come early and celebrate Earth Day with making bird feeders using recyclable materials. Earth Day is all about environmental stewardship, and this activity is a meaningful way to reduce waste and support local wildlife.

New York's State Parks and Historic Sites celebrates our Centennial in 2024, commemorating the 100th anniversary of the founding of our parks and sites system. Help us kick off this yearlong celebration and get your New Year off to a great start with a hike in Allegany State Park along the newly finished Quaker Run Area Multi-Use Trail.
