2017 Seneca Pow Wow

A nationwide and international audience will once again convene in Salamanca for one of the most grand and enthusiastic celebrations of Native American culture.  This is North America's Biggest Smoke Dance Contest.  There will be other dance styles as well including Fancy, Grass, Traditional, and Jingle.  A pow wow is an event where Native Americans meet to dance, sing, socialize, and honor their culture.  This event is open to all to experience the beauty of the First Nations through song, dance, art, and food.  Admission will get you in to watch the dances, tour the authentic crafts and try some delicious Native American food.

The annual three-day event will feature a series of exhilarating dance and drum competitions, including North America’s biggest Smoke Dance contest, with competitors coming from across the United States and Canada. Over $100,000 in prize money will be awarded during the Pow Wow.
