Rosy Simas Opening Reception

Rosy Simas (Seneca, Heron Clan) is a choreographer and visual artist based in Minneapolis.  Sima's work investigateshow culture, history and identity are stored in the body and expressed in movement (dance, film, and image).  For more than 20 years she has created work dealing with a wide range of political, social and cultural subject matter from a Native feminist perspective.  Simas is a Native Arts & Cultures Foundation fellow, a First People's Fund fellow, a Guggenheim fellow, a Dance USA fellow, a McKnight fellow, and a Joyce Awards recipient.  Sima's work has toured and been exhibited throughout Turtle Island.

Join in the Artist Reception for Rosy on December 5th, where you can meet the artist!  There will be a discussion on her work "Bloodlines: Images of Attachments", as well as a Q&A session.  There will also be light refreshments.

Allegany State Park has over 35 miles of Cross Country skiing trails, 18 hiking trails and 5.6 miles of paved multi-use trails (horseback riding, snowmobiling and more) around Red House Lake area. 3 campground areas with over 375 cabins.
