Edgar Shannon

"Dear Frant, I seat myself to commune with you through the medium of the pen... I can hardly realize that I am going to war..." So begins the first letter Edgar Shannon who had just joined the 154th New York volunteers to his sweetheart back home in Leon, New York. Their ensuing correspondence unfolds into a story of a love blossoming amid wartime terror, hardship, victories and defeats. On June 10th this story will be told by "Frant" portrayed by Tina Scherman of the Leon Historical Society as she shares Edgar's letters with the audience in the church where Edgar and Frant very likely attended services, located in the Historic 1836 Church.
