Shuhari Karate Dojo in Salamanca

Recently opened in December 2016, Shuhari Karate welcomes students ages 7 and up for traditional Shotokan Karate Classes.  Located at 79 River St. in Salamanca, NY the lead instructors - Missy Ivanich and Jim Butcher, have over 40 years of combined experience in the marial arts, and have trained people of all ages, previously alongside their instructor Kyoshi Robert Bruyer in Olean. 

Shuhari Karate Dojo strives to develop honor, respect, and integrity within its students, to be used in society at large, through the dedicated study of the principles and physical training of traditional karate.  Emphasis is applied to realistic self-defense training, derived from traditional kata, and adapted for use by men, women, and children.

Training includes practice of traditional forms, releases/grabs, throwing and locking techniques, and self-defense awareness. Other areas include traditional weapons forms and sparring techniques.  Classes are on the days they are currently open:
Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5pm-7:30pm and Saturdays from 9am-12pm.
