Jamestown Paranormal will be hosting Paracon '24 (a Paranormal Convention) Saturday, September 28th from 12-6pm at Gowanda's historic Hollywood Theater.

Celebrate New York State's Path through History Weekend with a presentation about the Holland Land Company at the Leon Historical Society on June 15th at 11am. Barker Museum's Archivist, Catherine Oag-Miller will lead the presentation. She has extensive knowledge of people and happenings of the local areas and is known for giving an engaging presentation. For those of you who may have Holland Land Co. on your Deed, bring a notebook and enjoy hearing Ms. Oag-Miller at the 1836 Church in Leon, NY. Light refreshments will be served. 

Join the Gowanda Area Chamber of Commerce every Thursday in July at beautiful Chang Hu Park for FREE live music, food, snacks, 50/50 raffles, and fun for the whole community!

Discover the history of Allegany State Park- January 1, 2026. This year’s First Day Hike is an easy trek featuring historical and environmental tidbits of information about the features found in this area of the park. Your hike will take you along the Quaker Multiuse trail that conveniently has an entrance at Camp Turner.

At 11:30 a.m. join park educators for a guided hike at Science Lake and learn the history and interesting historical figures of the park. The Historical Society will have the Quaker Museum open from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.

Gowanda's Historic Hollywood Theater proudly presents "The Boogie Woogie Kid, Matthew Ball" on Sunday, September 15th at 2:00pm. 

Matt will be performing Boogie-Woogie Piano and swing dance era favorites to delight the entire family.

Gowanda's Historic Hollywood Theater presents Mike Randall as Mark Twain on Sunday, September 29th from 2-4pm. 

 Mike is a veteran Twain impersonator; he brings to life a side of Twain's personality that is often neglected!

Join the Olean Historical Society for the 2026 Speaker series, with a presentation by Gail Feuchter. She will be speaking on the history of the Fannie Bartlett House at 6:30pm on June 15th.

The event will be held outside, so bring your lawn char and meet on the museum's side lawn. If it rains, the event will be held indoors. 

The event will be held at 302 Laurens Street in Olean, NY.

Get ready for some "Old Time Rock & Roll" as Gowanda's Historic Hollywood theater presents Brave Strangers: A Tribute to Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band!
