Celebrating it's 30 Year Anniversary in 2019, the Marvin "Joe" Curry Veterans Pow Wow attracts a nationwide and international audience and will once again convene in Salamanca for one of the most grand and enthusiastic celebrations of Native American culture.  This is North America's Biggest Smoke Dance Contest.  There will be other dance styles as well including Fancy, Grass, Traditional, and Jingle.  New for 2019 to commemorate the 30th anniversary is a kick-off celebration on Thursday, July 18th!  Special kick-off events will be happening all day, as well as a health & wellness event, a social from 5-7pm followed by live entertainment featuring The Jeremy Keyes Band from 7-9pm.

Pre-sale tickets can now be purchased online and are available as of June 24, 2019. 

The follow days will host the annual three-day event will feature a series of exhilarating dance and drum competitions, including North America’s biggest Smoke Dance contest, with competitors coming from across the United States and Canada. 

A pow wow is an event where Native Americans meet to dance, sing, socialize, and honor their culture.  This event is open to all to experience the beauty of the First Nations through song, dance, art, and food.  Admission will get you in to watch the dances, tour the authentic crafts and try some delicious Native American food.

Events start Friday night with live competition of singing and dancing.  See the dance schedule on the Pow Wow Website.   Featuring some of the finest Native craft and food vendors around! This Powwow weekend event is a perfect opportunity to experience the beauty of the First Nations through song, dance, art and food. 

$5 STUDENTS (5-17) & SENIORS (60+)
VETERANS & MILITARY (Must show ID) & CHILDREN 4 & younger

Clare Mark is the highest elevation in Cattaraugus County

The highest point in Cattaraugus County is Clare Mark, at 2,430 feet.  This mount, in the Town of Allegany off Chipmunk Road, is privately owned, and does not have public access for hiking.  Nearby attractions are Rock City Park and Allegany State Park.
