New York Duathlon Series - #3 Southern Tier

Southern Tier Duathlon in Randolph NY

End your season with this fun duathlon series. A great speed work out for veterans and a perfect beginner level event for those considering entering the world of multi-sport. Individuals and relay teams are welcome.  This is a 2 mile run, 12 mile bike(hilly), followed by another 2 mile run.

There are two races held at different sites in New York.  The Southern Tier race is held in the town of Randolph, NY , one mile from Exit 16 off of I-86.  This lovely course will start and finish at Weeden Park on Weeden Road (off of Main Street or Rt 394) with an out and back run down Weeden Road, back to the park and out to Rt 394, Price Corners, Coldspring Road back to Main Street and Weeden Road.  Then finish with an additional run on the same run course as the first.

Most Residents are Amish in the Town of Leon

There are approximately 1,380 residents in Leon with the Amish Community comprising about 76% of that number. The Old Order Amish settled in Leon in 1949. They do not believe in the modern conveniences. They have no electricity in their homes + travel by horse and buggy. 

If you are looking for someplace interesting to go, try the Leon area. It is right in the heart of Amish Country.
